Our Annual Matric Farewell is always an elegant event where the girls dress like princesses and the guys look dapper and handsome. This year was no exception. It took place at Cultiv8 Venue in Krugersdorp in September. The theme this year was Masquerade Ball. The decor was exquisite and the ambience provided by candles and fairy lights created a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. Learners, teachers and staff enjoyed a delicious three-course meal.
The highlight of this year’s event was the message from our Learner Representative Council (LRC) President, Lesedi Matlou. He shared the following wise and inspiring words with his fellow students and teachers:
“Grade 12 is for most of us an introduction to adulthood and responsibility. For me this marks 12 years of school, 12 years rich with experience and growth, and which will be the most important foundation of our education going forward.
I would like to congratulate you, fellow leaders, future intellectuals and change agents for making it this far. I would also like to tell you that before you lie a plethora of opportunities, ready for you to embark on.
Allow me to encourage you with my favourite scripture from Jeremiah 29 verse 11: “…for I know the plan that I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
As you embark on your future endeavours, remember this. You are a conqueror and your country needs you. The people of this country need your talents, your qualities, your skills, to make a difference. Let us be the change agents that will lead South Africa to a better place.”
